What is the average size of farms in Holland? This is just for intrest, I don't know the size of farming operation in your country.

Average size, hmm I think about 70 to 90 cows and about 50 ha land, mostly grass.

In South Africa the ave farm size are 900ha. Our farm size have 200ha arable land and we are working these lands with 3 tractor with the biggest on are a 88kw 4x4 tractor

In our area we have to wait for our raining season before working the fields. But 90% of my plantings are done with a none till planter where I plant direcktly into kikijoe pastures

My neighbour have 2 JD 6640 and 1 Claas 60kw 4x4 tractor, he is milking 1500 Frieslands on a 900ha farm

My father has 15 hectares of his own and we have 30 sheep 😃 not so big isn't it, but I like it this way. my father does it as hobby, am I going to make my profession out of it 😄

I am glad, if farming are in your blood, that is all that you whant to do. For us to make a living, we have to run a minimum of 200 beef cows.

Well, because in normal farming standards I can't make my dreams true I am going to start a biological farm. Much work but the people appreciate it

They don't make it easy for all kind of farmers, everthy must be like they wish, the bastards.

In a way we are lucky, if I want to spread chicken litter with a lime spreader I can. I am also in a way organic, we are spreading raw chicken litter on ave 30t/ha a year.

30t/ha /year chicken litter? the norm in Belgium is 90units N/ha rest

The 30t are equal to 750kg of N on a ha in a year. This is due to the fact that I only do no-till planting(organic materiaal in the soil)and it is the only fertilizer that I put down in a year.I am getting chicken litter cheap, have a big operation as a neighbour.

I plant in the winter oats, in the summer superdan(closely simmialer to maize)and lusern under irrigation. All these above I bale and pack a way, for I have veldt that we use for the cattle.
