The first ever Isuzu truck to operate within the nine strong fleet of Road Runners Recovery Service has recently gone into service for the Orpington based company, who were impressed by the substantial payload offered by the Isuzu 7.5 tonne vehicle.

“To keep up with our customer requirements, we needed a crew cab truck with good payload: naturally, the Isuzu fitted the bill perfectly. In addition, being based within the London Low Emission Zone, all our vehicles must satisfy the stringent emission standards. Overall, we felt that the Isuzu 7.5 tonne Euro VI crew cab was the right vehicle for our fleet requirements,” said Mark Crawley, director, Road Runners Recovery Service.

The first Isuzu in the Road Runners fleet is an Isuzu N75.190 manual crew cab rigid truck, fitted with a fully demountable Worldwide Recovery Aluminium Lo Slider body, supplied by RecoveryVehicles.com

In its distinctive red livery, the new Isuzu is a high specification recovery vehicle featuring air-conditioning and five cameras, including a reversing camera, that provide 24-hour recording at all times. There is additional voice recording in the cab too. Other features specified on the new Isuzu include extra-large lockers, a sliding winch, an impressive 4° loading angle, which is ideal for low profile, prestige vehicles recovery, and a second car lift for towing an additional vehicle.

According to Road Runners Recovery Service, this vehicle will be covering approximately 50,000 miles per year and is being operated predominantly by two dedicated drivers. As Mark Crawley said; “Both drivers are extremely happy with the spacious Isuzu crew cab, and they find the vehicle is extremely easy to drive and certainly powerful enough to handle our recovery operations.”

Based in Orpington in Kent, Road Runners Recovery Service has been in business since 1989 and operates in the London, Kent and South East area, providing vehicle recovery and transport services to its extensive customer base.

In September this year, this new Isuzu for Road Runners Recovery Service was the centrepiece of the Worldwide Recovery stand at the Tow Show in Telford.
